The Snapper XD flies under the radar in a market dominated by EGO and Greenworks, but it deserves more attention than it gets. The 82V system, which represents the highest voltage in consumer cordless mowers, provides genuinely impressive cutting power along with a steel deck that is a rarity in this price range.

That steel deck matters. While most competitors use polymer or plastic, the 14-gauge steel construction on the Snapper gives it a heft and durability that inspires confidence. You can feel the difference when the blade hits a stick or a rock, as the machine simply shrugs it off. The self-propelled system is smooth and responsive, and the overall cut quality is consistently excellent.

The 82V battery platform delivers strong runtime, typically enough to handle a half-acre lot without needing a swap. And the mower handles leaf cleanup surprisingly well, which is a bonus heading into fall.

Things to Consider: The steel deck is a pro and a con. It's more durable than plastic, but it also adds weight. Extended mowing sessions will be more tiring, especially on hilly terrain. The 82V battery ecosystem is also relatively niche, Snapper and its parent company Briggs & Stratton offer a limited tool lineup compared to the big names. If cross-compatibility matters, that's worth factoring in.
